This looks interesting: Megane RS wagon

Could be all sorts of win for the hot hatch buyer with a family - Renault Megane Estate GT220:

Cliffs: 162kW, 340Nm (both a bit less than the hatch), $36,990. Maybe it's just me being 30something with two kids but I like the idea of a fast wagon these days.

Looks nice. After hiring a Megane RS for a week in Italy last year, big fan of the current Renaults.

Still, not as a good as a Magna that does 1:10 around WP.

We are in the market for something like this in the near future.

Hope it has a reasonable tow rating.

Horray! An affordable wagon with reasonable performance. We were basically forced to buy an SUV earlier in the year because we wanted a manual wagon that is fun to drive. It seems such a thing doesn't exist. Ended up with a manual Diesel ASX. Nopics is happy with it, but this Megane would be way more fun.

I had a Megane Sport Tourer Diesel hire car in Spain earlier this year. It was a POS. The suspension was crap, my RS Octavia drives a zillion percent better. I think only the petrol RS Renualts are any good. The best in bracket is the Volvo. Not sure if we get the V60 wagon with the 5cyl diesel here but the one I had last year, was awesome. 3 blokes with big luggage and it pulled from 180 in 6th gear on the motorway like it was doing 60 in 3rd. I reckon the 6cyl AWD petrol we get here would be an nice family sleeper.
A slow day at the track is better than any day in the office.
