It's still not rego'd.
Not sure I'd complain about it just yet - fix it, (and keep reciepts) then get it rego'd (make sure you super document everything) and THEN complain... last thing you really want is them fucking you around more because you complained - then ask them for your costs to fix the car, after it was damaged in their posession. This is a post i wrote by mistake, which is nice...

Have they charged you for the storage fees yet? A similar thing happened to someone I know, he probably had done the wrong thing though, was a US block with no engine number that he stamped to match the car as the old engine had split a bore or something.
Paying for thre pleasure of having your pride and joy stored outside in an impound yard while they sort their shit out. Go SA.

Good on you for complaining to the ombudsman, so many don't and so authorities do what they want most of the time.Richard's DatsunZ lappin LakesidZ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47OSh...&feature=g-upl

Also had a police officer follow my mrs home one day in her Sprinter saying the plates had come up as stolen, from ten years ago. After a bit of a fuck around dealing with the coppers who were working on the case we were told on the quiet that if we changed the rego plates over, everything would be good. Which we did. And it was....

I have written everything down. Im with you,I have a shit memory.
Got a call today,I have been supplied with a new engine number and I have to stamp it on and stamp a line through the old one. Once that's done (and I fix the pedal) it's back to the ID Inspection station for round 2.
Still no word what the actual issue was but the bloke I spoke to seemed to think I was lucky to get the engine back.
Cheers
