Does anyone know if those open faced units are approved for use at test'n'tunes (in a closed top car?) It would be much better than using a closed face in my opinion.

Shows you how much mark up there is on helmets. You can't honestly say a top flight helmet is worth > $1000. But the market with pay it so that's what helmet co.s will charge.

Didn't Glenn Seton use an open face helmet?

Disc lock, paddock stand and ramp (depending on sturdiness!) are the best things on there.

Yeah, a few of the 90s guys did. I just remember that ANDRA or CAMS or someone recently changed their helmet standards. I am just too lazy to look myself.

              Lol.
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

LOL at not skimping on leather and RJays being in the same sentence.

Aldi full face apparently meets ANDRA regs according to their txt, so a cheap option for casual WSID outings?

Not saying that a high end helmet should cost $50 btw, but there's no way it should cost $1200-1500. I'd be surprised if it would cost a tenth of the retail price to manufacture.

The Aldi helmets aren't too heavy either, well compared anything sub $400. Seems about the same weight as my shark helmet.

Rjays can be hit and miss. Sometimes you crash and its mostly ok others you crash and its fallen apart so much it has reverted back to basic elemental from. I've found it much more comfortable to crash in gear that I know will stay together.

I picked my jacket because it felt solid. I haven't crashed yet but if I do im pretty confident with it.
