Due to my excellent knowledge of gravity I'm betting the advertised wading depth doesn't mean you can hit hub deep water at 50km/hr, blast water everywhere through your innner guards and expect it to not have a drink. Ford's warranty policy on water sounds reasonable. You should have optioned it up with the factory idiot resistant pack that let's you hit anything you want and never have to do anything more than put fuel in it.

Quite a few of the 3L rangers/BT50s have had engine failures due to the EGR coolers failing, usually leak slowly, exhaust gas rather than coolant in the head kills them. Perhaps they are having a catastrophic EGR cooler fail and hydraulic locking on coolant? That would explain no water in airbox, I'd pressure test the EGR cooler.

Actually the incident happened at 11.00pm and I was at the dealership the next morning at 8.00am.Originally posted by choppo View PostRolls up to dealer and say "look, my air filter is dry!!!"

But you seem to know better.

Hmmmm, everything else was pressure tested but not the EGR cooler. will get the techs to do that.Originally posted by Slides View PostQuite a few of the 3L rangers/BT50s have had engine failures due to the EGR coolers failing, usually leak slowly, exhaust gas rather than coolant in the head kills them. Being somewhat bewildered but always open to unforseen possibilities, I did some basic calculations and still find it a difficult premise that a tray of frozen urine, typically 600 x 400mm, could be "slid" into a typical sized automotive air induction opening of around 70mm diameter. Rather than demonstrate the maths I thought an oppropriate illustration would suffice ...Originally posted by Rockhopper View PostI bet someone slid a tray of frozen piss in your air box.

Problem is he has a 2.2L TD, which are totally unrelated to the previous Duratorq motors.Originally posted by Slides View PostQuite a few of the 3L rangers/BT50s have had engine failures due to the EGR coolers failing, usually leak slowly, exhaust gas rather than coolant in the head kills them.
