Done that and whilst they are sympathetic to my problem they say they cannot over rule any decisions made by Ford Thailand.

Saying that it was them who mentioned the breach of policy by Ford Thailand in stripping the engine to bits before the insurance company was notified.

As it turns out the Land Transport Dept want nothing to do with stamping an engine number and more or less told us to go fook ourselves.

So the people that are trying to sort this took the engine back to AAT and asked Ford to stamp the engine number.....they more or less said the same as the Land Transport Dept.

Ford came to the party though and a brand new Long Block Engine is being delivered on Monday (with an engine number on it), they kept the short block and provided the new one at no extra cost.

All things being equal I should finally have my Ranger back on the road sometime next week........ only been off the road for near on 6 months....sigh.

To be honest other than the engine saga and the clutch that makes a horrendous noise it has been 100% reliable during the 13,000km I have driven it in the past 15 months.

Lol wait till it reaches 50000 kms
Save yourself the hassle and throw a new turbo and engine mounts on it now, they will be fucked in 30000kms anyway.

Not sure if it has been covered but Ford deleted the one way drain valve from the bottom of the airbox recently. If it is a recent MY check out if it is there and if not get one to replace it. It's a rubber disc basically.

Mine has the drain valve intact, would have been useful if water ingress through the air cleaner assembly was the culprit but alas it was not in this case.
