I'd suggest if they are coming to Qld its because whatever they want run is in Qld. Ie qld based v8 supercar. Thank Fuck it wasn't the paperclip! No way they.d get to use Lakeside.

I'm sure it's okay but it's certainly no Phillip Island or Bathurst.

I'm thinking this is probably the reason.

fuck, either this will be good and put MP on the map internationally, or it will be the butt of clarkson humour, and put it on the map for the wrong reasons...

top gear motto might as well be 'never let facts get in the way of a funny gag' and yes I'm still bitter about the various alfa abuse over the years

                Muppets indeed!!!

Geez we are an over-regulated country where we cant run a race car on a track/training complex, in the middle of the day, in the middle of the goddamn sugar cane fields for a couple hours unless we apply for a noise restriction relaxation??

Morgan Park actually has a decent layout, pity its not wide enough for professional level racing.

My comment on the Courier page 2 days ago when the article came out....

/snip from Couriermail/ "Typical government short shortsightedness and stupidity! Well done GC council on missing out on being portrayed in a positive light on a world stage for free......now you'll no doubt get the exact opposite! In a town with so many problems of late you would think you'd jump at any positive exposure! "

The stupidity of the Government (and the GC in this case) is astounding...at a time when all they get is bad press you think they might welcome something like this but nope...."we couldn't organise to sign a piece of paper within 24hrs to let this go ahead". Fucking useless cunts.

I agree, but apart from the V8's at the Gold Coast, the govt is only interested in wasting millions of dollars on football stadiums.

... and that nearly took the proverbial gun to the head to make happen as well.

There was a restaurant in Warwick fully booked last night which is usually shut on a Monday. Hmmm today?

I reckon some of you are going to eat your hats. My money is on Clarkson loving the place. Plus MP > Norwell.
