They're definitely from a by-gone era. You sit up so high in them, the window sill feels like it's around waist height. Makes for awesome vision out, but totally opposite to most vehicles these days.

The 130 Defender does seem to be better value, apart from the lack of grunt? I dunno how much torque do you need?Originally posted by irsa76 View PostGitfarked, 79 series dual cab STARTS at $71k on the road in NSW with no options, A/C is $2761 and diff locks are $1500 plus the cost of the tray and what ever else you want. LR 130 dual cab is $59k on the road in NSW. Is the 79 series $10k better then the Land Rover?Jaguar XJR, Freelander 2 HSE, Jaguar XKR, MINI Cooper S

As Much as I love these myself........ I wouldnt buy one new because...........
1. they are toooo fucking expensive for features you dont get etc...
2. The cabin is smaller than a current shape 150 hilux dual cab,and controls are from 1985
3. The V8 D4d is not as good as it could be,and the 3.0ltr hilux D4D with a chip ,tune etc goes just as good..
4.Befucked if id trust the toyota warranty on that engine, knowing the bullshit they come up with to knock back 90% of the common rail issues Hilux are having with there engines....
