He's referring to your curveball Maloo ute you posted. And FWIW, anyone who pays full ticket and anything like $80k for a Maloo needs their head read.

I really want to upgrade my 80 series to a 4wd Ute. Being a Toyota fan boy, i guess i can only settle to Hilux or the 79. Would LOVE a Dual Cab but how can something like t hat be worth so much??? 80K or so for a GXL?? [/IMG]
        for a little bit less...

or for a justifiable bit more...

could a modern supercharged 5.7L V8 really use that much more fuel than your current petrol 80 series?? Its a no brainer..

you can always hear them when they break and they stop the engine immediately so you can't do any more damage.

And the fuel bill............tradie mate has a tradie mate that has the 7.3L Powerstroke V8. My mate has a 4.2 Patrol and was having a whinge about the cost of fuel. His F250 mate had just done his tax and said he spends on average $19,500/yr on diesel! Although when you consider that it is essentially a truck, not a ute, $375/wk isn't too bad; and he does do a shit load of driving with the thing fully loaded with gear (he got the F250 so he didn't have to tow a trailer everywhere).

Yeah, as grey imports with Aussie RHD conversions. So, if you're actually wanting to use the thing off road or do serious touring, you'd be fucking mad. Outback mechanics (right or wrong) would roll around laughing at you even harder than they do at those using Land Rovers.

Tundra bed flexes big time, too much articulation offroad will see the bed kiss the body, and over corrugations the vibrations will make the body panels 'wave'
The chassis is also weak as piss.

Don't be a tight wad! just buy one

tired strung out old line is tired and bullshit.

its not so much about the car (up to a point), but how you set them up.
current 79 Dual cab GXL comes twin locked standard... Should out-drive the Paj and Disco, no problems at all.

yeh it will, but price up a couple e-lockers/some good suspension in a new hilux dually( I just fitted them in mine) your still going to be infront $20k.+ with a VCD SR then go ballistic on it.

It'llUse less fuel, nicer to drive, cheaper to service and maintain/insure......

OK it doesnt sound anywhere near as good....
