    Good.

The police actions on that road, nearly all by Brisbane Water HWP, are just abysmal.

In fact, nearly everything Brisbane Water HWP does is abysmal. No time for them at all. I think the one who tried to do me for doing a burnout in dry weather in a stock AWD underpowered Audi, then lied about me speeding, then refused to give his ID number, then threatened me with impounding my car when I started quoting legislation at him, and was then protected as his "recording equipment was down" when I made a complaint about him, did it for me.

The more they get brought down in court the better.

I can't see it setting any sort of meaningful precedent, but you never know.

Good on them for sticking it to the man, though.

This is deeply concerning that police would do this tactic. It could have caused a death. We all know Traffic cops do this sort of things to book people so they can get there KPI's or promotion but this is crazy. I think the officers are a disgrace to the QLD police and should be stood down without pay with a formal investigation into these practices.

IMHO The senior office who condones this should ... never mind.

Or better still, tailgating really aggressively & then pinging the tailgatee for exceeding the speed limit. They love that one, too.

Nah.....they'll just have the rules changed to suit them.

I particularly liked how the Police made a point of saying that they'll continue targeting dangerous driving/riding in an effort to try and make it look like the riders committed some sort of heinous crime.

Standard operating procedure for QPS... sit 20 kmh under the speed limit over popular mountain roads then half pull off the road and signal for cars/bikes to overtake across unbroken lines....

& if you ignore their offer to overtake, probably book you for failing to obey directions from a police officer...

Fawkner Traffic Management Unit do this. Drove so close to me at night that I couldn't see his headlights. Then gave me a fine for not slowing down fast enough on a freeway exit ramp.

Some cops are utter cunts at times.

According to the culture of our police forces at the moment, a driver who would dare purposely break their random rules (eg. by exceeding the limit by 2km/h) is much more dangerous than an oblivious moron who doesn't give a shit & wobbles in and out of lanes at 10km/h under.

...they will continue driving dangerously in an effort to cause riders to commit some heinous crime.

Wasn't surprised to read there were off duty cops in amongst those New York bike riders that were causing mayhem.

                                This.

As far as I'm concerned someone who deliberately (baiting or not) breaks a rule (which may or may not be an appropriate rule), in what they believe to be a safe manner, is much better than someone who has no idea they're even doing anything.

They should both probably get tickets (unless baited) but the oblivious one should get raked over coals and the deliberate one should get a basic fine and a warning that the operation is running all weekend :p

And yes cops are cunts and fuckwits and that's just what they're like. Yet people always seem to defend them 'they're not all like that' or 'I know a guy who is a cop and he's not too bad' or 'it's just the traffic guys.

I'd love to be a cop, and would make a really good one I'm sure (ie NOT a cunt) but would hate to be involved in the system and/or have to deal with the knobs already having badges.

This baiting business has happened a lot in wild, along with misuse of lights/sirens, speeding/accelerating hard and general harassment of certain groups.
