Thats nothing to do with Ford as such.Originally posted by DuaneDibbley View PostNot stupid. My experiences with Ford dealers have been the worst of any make I've owned.
Its the aussie mentality of its awesome, we dont have to care..
Ford/Holden are the same, and I've found the same attitude from various 'Premium' Truck dealers as well.

Hmm yeah, I know the dealers aren't "Ford" (my dealer told me that repeatedly). But I've noticed the attitude you mention is FAR worse at Ford dealers than Suzuki/Holden/Hyundai/Renault/Triumph/Honda/Husqvarna in my personal experience.Originally posted by Agent86 View PostThats nothing to do with Ford as such.

My biggest question on any of these cars is who is going to buy them second hand? The Clio Sports are a decent thing, but are worth nothing. If you're going to buy a new one and sell it after a couple of years, I'd hate to know how you lose when you sell it."If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough horsepower." - Mark Donahue Penske Porsche 917

True.
Would be getting it salary packaged; on a 5 yr lease the residual on the 208 is only 8k. Considering it'll only have done 80,000km's by the time the lease is up, should still be able to flip it for $9-10k.
Same with the 86 GT, 8-9k residual. Would be more inclined to buy out the 86 though.

Been awhile since you've dealt with the frogs I gather? Servicing and parts costs are no worse then anyone else, 10k service for my thing was cheaper then the same size service on my previous Rav4 and not much dearer then nopic's Colt. Parts prices also weren't massively high when it had half the front end replaced after the wildlife encounter. I admit the local dealer, Citroen/Puegoet, is abit ordinary with their attitude, still better then my experience with Ford, Holden and Toyota dealers here.Originally posted by cheapracer View PostThe service bills, parts cost and attitude, not to mention value drop, will man him up.
As for value drop, yeah well, some models do Ok while others are shocking, still better then Falcon though.

You'd wanna fucking hope a modern sportscar felt shitloads quicker than a mid 90s Hilux.Originally posted by My limp penis View Postaround town below 4000rpm the torque is quite impressive for a two litre- feels shitloads quicker than a 2.7 litre petrol hilux, and they have 240Nm.
Buy the 86, it sounds like that's what you really want.Originally posted by Bob Vegana. They strike me as a total piece of shit.
So definitely right up my alley.

Having owned a French car before.... run for the hills if you intend on keeping it past warranty.
IMO, the Fiesta looks better, the critics are raving about it, it's cheaper, and it won't drive you batshit insane with maintenance costs when it has a couple of years and a few kms under its belt.
