The only one I've actually been in, a sedan, was really very quiet.Originally posted by Cletus View PostDo they have the same lack of sound insulation?
My guess is that the Skyline's supposed to be more luxo than the 350Z.Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

The 4-doors especially just look like you're cruising around in a Maxima!"Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary... that's what gets you." - JC

Pfft most are just stereotyping, and saying get a cheap car so if he crashes they can say 'told you so'.. I bet half the people on here had powerful cars when they where on Ps, before all the new rules came in. I had a half powerful WRX on my Ps, and didn't kill myself or have any accidents.Originally posted by cheapracer View Post
Or genuinely caring for you and your boy.
I reckon there is more chance of getting into shit in a cheap shitter, because it's a Shitbox you treat it like a Shitbox and thrash it, at least if something does go wrong the 35 has airbags, abs, etc etcEvoke 3D Architectural Visualisation http://www.evoke3d.com.au

90% of people I see driving a V35 or V36 2dr fit into three categories; Asian guys with brand-name stickers all over the car, flatbrim-wearers (their cars are usually damaged) and swedes. And they're all young. Someone whose job involves being on the road the whole time just looking for people to hassle surely can't fail to notice the same thing?Originally posted by Shell View PostThe V35 is just a G35 Infinity marketed as a family car in the US. Weren't most people saying that the "bad idea" was getting a relatively powerful car stereotypically owned by poorly-behaved young people? It's not about being cheap, it's more about someone wanting a car that adheres to a stereotype being an indication that they might behave in the stereotypical way.Originally posted by frog_a_lotI reckon there is more chance of getting into shit in a cheap shitter, because it's a Shitbox you treat it like a Shitbox and thrash it, at least if something does go wrong the 35 has airbags, abs, etc etc
But his dad knows him better than the rest of us; on my part I was more surprised than attempting to be all Scrubian advisory.

I'm going to go a bit off topic and actually answer op's post... Fuck am I revolutionary or what???
V35 skylines are decent, nice and comfy (some of the best stock seats out there), they are not fast at all, but will be able to hwy cruise easily and safely. Parts are kinda okay because of all the Nissan incest, but then again I have heard that there are still bits that you can only get out of the USA for them.
It is a very nice car for a p plater, but won't be too much cop bait, most cops wouldn't know what it is and as long as it doesn't end up with 5% tint and slammed he should be fine.
I had a bmw as my first car, that thing was cop bait, and it caught fire a lot, I don't see either happening with the v35.

what sort of BMW was cop bait? Or just the expected combination of young bloke in a 3 series with spinners and pink vinyl interior = possible drug dealer?
