Fair enoughOriginally posted by Forg View Post90% of people I see driving a V35 or V36 2dr fit into three categories; Asian guys with brand-name stickers all over the car, flatbrim-wearers (their cars are usually damaged) and swedes. And they're all young. Someone whose job involves being on the road the whole time just looking for people to hassle surely can't fail to notice the same thing?
Most of the ones I've seen in traffic (ie, not at hella flush car shows) have been the complete opposite. I think if you kept it stock you wouldn't get hassled... no more than anyone in an 86 or whatever.

quite a bit of car for mid/high teens in reality especially compared to a local 350z

certainly no more dangerous than say the VN i had as a first car hahaOriginally posted by Cplus View PostAfter thinking about it a bit more, and after the clouds have cleared and I've stopped yelling at them, I reckon these (if kept pretty stock and auto) would actually be a pretty decent first car.

strangely there's a few around where i am and they're already turning into shitters (ie, shabby paint and loose trim)Originally posted by boxxx
Deutsche Bahn Rail: Trains are a great way to get lots of people concentrated into a small area, like a camp.
ACA/TT: Where's the line between a car enthusiast and hoon? There is none

I don't think you can judge grey-imports by what you see from a distance, though; they don't always put the best of loving care into good paint & trim work when fixing 'em up to flog here.Originally posted by TonyJZX View Poststrangely there's a few around where i am and they're already turning into shitters (ie, shabby paint and loose trim)Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

He will bin it at some stage, suggest a 350z or something else locally sourced for insurance and smashie reasons.Originally posted by Turbo 351 View PostThinking of getting a V35 skyline for my son as a first car. Who knows a bit about these- ie what model is the pick of the bunch, and what to look out for?
Thanks in advance
That aside, nice cars

GM3800-II Commodes require 95 ... Holden didn't advertise the fact, but ownership makes it obvious.
Not a significant expense, in the overall scheme of things.
Stuff like brake pads etc you can get off places like eBay; that's pretty "easily available".
Only if he insists on conforming to the Skyline stereotype ... very few P-platers at my school binned a car, including the mate who's dad had fitted the 380hp ("GTHO PhIII Spec") 351C to the family 4spd XD Fairmont wagon.Originally posted by dnegative View PostHe will bin it at some stageSoft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback.
