Some nice suggestions in here. Dodge Phoenix's are a relative bargain and BBC donks make them awesome.

I'm also partial to early 60's Lincoln Continentals (62/63 are primo), and in fact nearlt purchased a ripper from Tassie quite recently. However, reality bit, and the sheer size of these true American tankss precluded the easy garaging of them.

    Buy a Valiant.

Lincolns are nice and somewhat under priced but geez they are a price nightmare when repairing......mate that I bought one in for has gone through bulk cash getting problems fixed and now its upto wiring and that is a shit storm.

      stick to chev or pontiac

Probably not a bad option. Early Holdens are steadily going up in value while a lot of the yank stuff is pretty stagnant. Cruise it for a few years and buy a two door America car later

Maybe so, but a 66 Oldsmobile Toronado is still a collector's item.

A little known fact about the 66 Toronado is that the rear roofline, and the bulged guards were copied almost intact when the first generation Monaro was on the drawing board.

Just to clarify, I'd still have one.

Have seen most of them ^^^.
That ZB Fairlane looks cool as until you see under the bonnet!

I have stopped looking at 6 cylinders after i test drove an EH as i realised a cruiser is way better with that V8 rumble.

But how are all those a good thing but that Parissienne (the red roof one) not?
My taste must be up my ass as i reckon it looks sweet.
Also its RHD, Has as fresh 350 chev and a powerglide so parts and maintenance piss easy compared to some of the other suggestions.
If it was pillerless would everyone wank over it?
                  I climbed Mt Druitt

if i was 60 or older, a continental would be my first choice of car, along with a pinstripe suit and a fedora

i like parissiennes too, just something yank delivered *should* be easier to get body and trim stuff for should the need ever arise.

i included 6's and probably a few bucket seat cars, because lets face it, the hardest part by faaaar is getting a good body. mechanicals and front benches are cheap and a piece of piss to get.

Yeah all good. Some cars never had benches as an option and center consoles fuck that idea (Thunderbird).

Looking at a local American car parts supplier (Ponti World) they list a lot of spares for 62 to 65 Parrisiennes as the same as the same age Impala's.
There the same Chassis etc AFAIK.

Theres a Mustang for sale in Sydney at the moment with a factory front bench seat in it and i had no clue that was an option but Wikipedia told me it was.

Considering Lincolns were aimed at the same buyers as Rolls Royce, in the 1960s, this isn't surprising. Very few components interchange with Fords, later models were pretty much tarted up Fords so parts are more plentiful and cheaper.
