Is the traffic as bad as my never-visited HK preconceptions suspect it probably is?
I don't think you'd be saving any money by ditching it & buying something else non-hybrid & petrol, if the traffic's as heavy as I suspect it is ... methinks you'd have to go diesel, unless the Mazda6 brake-energy recapture works a heap better than it actually does.
In answer to question ... you don't want to know what a GM3800-II VS uses in L/100km when only used in local traffic & 50 zones & waiting at traffic-lights, for about 4km each way ... must be around 17L/100km or so. Lucky it only gets filled maybe once every 3-4 weeks, so that's ... what, about $1.2k/yr.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.
nearly $10k between two cars and one boat. just over $3.5k of that in the daily (VE SSV).
and i love every fucking greenhouse gas emmiting minute of it.
