You were a lumpy camshaft away from happiness.Originally posted by 18htan View PostI replaced the tired 350 and glide in my 63 Belair with an LS1, which I am currenly replacing with a snotty 383.
I see both sides and after driving both sides, my chev went like a fucking commodore and sounded like one as well.
Essentially, it had lost its soul... hahaPest Control - Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich and South West QLD PF discounts apply.

Yep, but try going through the RWC/SC business with any car more than 10 years old - random fleck of oil, oooo, better swap every gasket in there, 1cm hole in your seat? distraction, replace that. It can be a fucking nightmare...Originally posted by itsnotagsr View PostThere are states in Australia have no annual roadcheck.
Which is one I'll incidentally get to go through when I get around to trying to get dad's old Pootrol on the road in as crusty, old and original a state as possible.
It won't be a carbed, cammed 65 camaro but it's a start! New car + awesome old car (with possibly suicidal stuff sorted out).

been on both sides....454 in a one tonner - yeah it was good, did lazy burnouts, got hot rattled and all the other shit. Current HQ had a stinky 253 that sounded cool but would loose in a pulling competition with a 12 year old boy.
Have put the LS1 into the HQ, sounds the same, goes heaps better, conversion was comparative if not cheaper than a SBC, can drive to summernats for $25 (was $40 with the 253) can now compete in burnouts and other events.
Yes I get the old car old engine but really that car still doesnt handle, stop and still has all the old creeks and noises, just goes better now. Only bad thing is that I cannot tune it on the side of the road with a piece of bark

Where you driving that east bound on Old Cleveland Rd at Coorparoo this morning just after 8am?Originally posted by MartyRX2 View PostI've been cruising this all weekend. Didn't miss a beat. Couldn't do the commute in it today though with no synchro on first.
