You will find v8 saharas just ass expensive, so you would go for this for t he L badge and different head/tail lights, trim and suspension.

Go for 2005 up as they went from 4 to 5 speed Auto. I was very much considering one before I bought my 80, but it would be too nice to take bush. They are more fuel efficient than the 4.5 6cyl too.

The two you linked are nice, I wanted white, but found it hard to find at the time. These are called Toyota Cygnus in Japan if it helps.

2003 is when the 5spd auto was introduced. Body had a facelift in 2005.

I just bought a 2003 V8 landcruiser. Test drove a few LX470s whilst looking, they are a nice bit of gear.

thanks boys. It seems the Saharas and VXs are around the same money as an LX so the lexus is the favorite at the moment.

Off road capability is good enough with IFS, still better then any soft roader getting around.

Does this automated suspension system fail frequently. Can you replace it with normal gear?

Sorry mate, but I am not sure on that one. A mate of mine had one for quite a while and didn't have any problems, but this was a few years ago. He would regularly tow his drift car around the country though, so it wasn't necessarily babied, and still no problems.
