Comprehension...I never said anything about Holdens influence on the design of the Colorado we get. I merely stated that was chevy's interpretation of it.

Looks like it's identical to the Holden except for the badge itself; if yours is RHD then maybe it took that long for LHD, if not then maybe they decided they needed a fresh look to sell it to Murricans? Although the Range Rover front does look a lot better than what we've currently got, which I'd have said was a Chevrolet front.
Iam driving a RHD one but also have LHD ones in the workshop, have had both since this model was released.

Reading the jalopnik article this "new" pickup is a just a face lift of the current one, the new face looks good and with a 2015 release it might be a replacement for my Ranger (if it lasts that long).

The one in the first post is a rendition and if you look at the cabin lines especially the doors/glass you can tell it is the same basic cab as the Thai built Colorado (Chev/Holden) currently on the market.

Well, yeah; the discussion-point is in what rj_ was saying about it being a 2014 model in the USA, and yet has been out everywhere else since what the Americans would call a 2011 model.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Thats because they share the same cab... Just like the previous shape Colorado, US Chevy ones have a different front end and tub, but the rest is the same.

Previous Thai built Colorado had a front very similar to the US one.

But was facelifted in 2005/2006 into this.

The whole running gear of a Wingle is basically, but not a direct copy of an Isuzu DMax which is the Colorado/Rodeo, certainly the same detailed dimensions for chassis and suspension components.

Interestingly on the 2012 onwards Colorado I can not tell the difference between some of the 2006 onwards Wingle parts so I actually suspect they may be purchasing some parts from Great Wall.

Direct copy? Aren't they the same car, ie, not copied just one and the same?

I don't know what the licensing structure or any agreements between them are if any but I do know that many parts are interchangable without being actual copies, heres the front uprights for example ...

Chev with removable intergrated hub and bearing ...

Great Wall with stub axle ...

Totally different but actually interchangable as the critical dimensions are the same.

their version of the 7 seat SUV will be epic compared to the gross thing we get

too bad they dont get diesels and we wont get their styling

what a world we live in

Apparently they're getting a 2.5 TD, I suspect it might be the new Isuzu engine.
