Realised why I hadn't heard of it... there's a whole 1 distributor in NSW, and dozens in SA + other states. I might give it a try after this thing is run in... thanks for the suggestion.

Brad Penn, Joe Gibbs Driven, know a couple people now using LAT and they are extremely impressed.

we been using Brad Penn in turbo 1UZ n 2JZ for years, both on E85 and make 1200hp, done at least 600 1/4 passes between n 200+ dyno runs. the 1UZ is a street car, 40000km in 5 years. both motors pulled down recently the 2JZ was perfect, 1UZ wasn't perfect, but, still in great condition. very well priced, 11L about $100-$120.

I use Castrol edge because it has the prettiest bottle.

If I had half a brain I would probably use penrite because it is priced better than most.

Interesting, you're 1 year shy of mine but about 16,000km ahead (210,000km here). Don't really plan on selling it soon either so expect to push past 300,000km. Doesn't really see the track time yours does but gets a flogging at skid pan days, in the hills etc.
Curious to see how each hold up and the respective turbos...... yours still has an FG turbo on it?

I run Nulon 10-40w "fast flow" Full Synth every 10,000km. (on LPG it's still pretty clean on the stick by then).

Mine still has the stock Garret FG turbo but for piece of mind had a rebuild/service at GCG in Sydney at about 150,000kms. Didn't want it to blow up at Wakefield and have to pay for a flatbed back to Sydney and take up one of CHE's parking spaces....

Lucky I did do the turbo service as the Nylon bushes/bearings were burnt out so were replaced with steel. Also had the turbo oil line replaced with an Earl's kit. Probably not necessary with regular oil changes though as mine was pretty clean unlike the little BA turbo oil filters that aren't serviced as well as mine.

The turbo still pulls strong though (at 226,000kms) and I'm guessing regular oil changes with Royal Purple has helped.
