These things look orrite in the flesh. Saw plenty of the previous model Kia K7 in Seoul, and at first glance of one going thru the traffic, you'd think it was an Audi. It doesn't look cheap at all.

it looks better than the genesis and i think it it even outclasses nissan and lexus as far as large car design goes as Kia's styling cues arent out there to be "controversial" for its own sake

Looks like someone said "design a generic large sedan for release in 2013". Having said that, it's a generic large sedan done well and this isn't a market that appreciates radical departures from the norm.

More importantly, RWD+V8 so why not choose this over a competing FWD+V6 misery box?

I think this applies just as much to Lexus and Infiniti as it does here. In fact i prefer the Kia offering over the current Lexus & infiniti and Im normally a JDM fanboi.

Looks alright. It really would be telling of the Australian industry if the Koreans can make money off a RWD V8 and we can't. I hope that rings some bells for a few people in this country.
