gen3 chrysler Hemi's are getting cheap, make real good power, have the 'ign leads into top of rocker cover' look, can get ITBs or carb manifolds for them, and bolt up to torqueflites.

The best part about rods is that they shouldn't be super expensive. You make parts, have fun and do the work yourself. Got kids? Get them involved. Make building a rod a fun thing to do. Once it's finished it's something to take them to the beach with on weekends or to shows/swap meets.
Don't have to throw big $$ at them to make them cool, period wheels with white walls and some ingenuity usually looks awesome without costing the earth.

It's the PF way. "Put a twin turbo LS in it brah, you'll have it converted and running in 2.5 hours and make an eazy 1000rwkw, lulz" All while the same people who suggest this stuff drive around in a corolla and have a fucked VN sitting in the garage for the past 3 years as a "project car."
It's got potential. The proportions of it aren't too bad its just got some wrong looking shit on it like the wheels. An engine with a vintage look with some swept back pipes to emphasize the long low look would make it cool. The six is too tall. A bonnet would also fix this.
It hasn't got any major sins though like a Holden front suspension or skulls moulded into the doors. It's all in the details
I reckon it's on a mid 30's ford chassis but it also looks to have had a chassis extension? It's quite long.

Don't like rods at all.
I guess it comes down to the fact that I think it's bullshit as to what they can get away with and still have a registered car.
s/c big block in a van chassis that never did anything well. no worries.
Yeah but hot rodders aren't well known for pulling massive skids or doing dumb shit in public. Most of them take them out on Sunday drives and the occasional Saturday evening cruise. That and it's older boys usually who own them.
