If you really have a clean (and I mean clean as in none or maybe one fine) record you could go to court and request a Section 10.

Do it online. There are only 3 or 4 options you can select as an excuse. Pick the 'perfect driving record' option. They only allow something like 200 characters to write your case.

Did it on an un regoed fine earlier this year and win win! Was stoked!

"Relatively perfect" driving record in the fact that I have no speeding fines in my 15 years of driving, however I did get done using a mobile without a complete hands free kit a few years back (work ftl), and I'm pretty sure I got a "excessive noise/smoke" fine when was 17.

Seriously though, how have you gone 15 years without a speeding fine? That is mighty impressive. I'm sure the pf nebo and ippy drag crew will happily provide some character references and testimony to your vehicular control abilities :D

I'm not sure bout in Qld, but in NSW, if you haven't had a fine in the last 10 years, you can write in, and they will let you off.

I got done a few months ago, wrote in, and got let off... No fine, no demerit points.

Bugger paying it. If there's a chance you can get out of it pleading the it's my first time offence via a letter or online submission, i'd be doing that for sure. Only works once apparently so might as well!

I had a similar thing under 10 k's over the limit, no driving offenses for over 10 years and the fine was cancelled no questions asked.

As much as I'd like to say its due to my awesomeness, I guess I've just been lucky and I don't generally break the speed limits.

Just write a letter and explain its your first ever offense. Fairly certain they'll just give you a warning, especially since its only 9km.

No such thing in QLD. You will have to draft a letter to the OIC of the station at which the issuing officer is based. It will most likely be a Senior Sergeant so may be worthwhile finding out what his name is to make the letter a bit more personal.

Have successfully done this myself in the past and has kept my record clean.
