Arrrrgh diff bushes! I worked at a Holden dealer, but still had to do a heap of Territory/Falcon/FPV diff bushes. I'd rather do VE fuel pumps.
I always dropped the rear ends out to do bushes, although the centre rear bush is easy on a Territory if you drop the spare.

Funny you say tightass taxi way, the guy they employed to replace me came from a taxi workshop, and he told me front diff bushes are easy in car on a taxi as they're LPG so no petrol tank in the way. They gave him Territory diff bushes to do on his 2nd day at Holden haha.

No nothing like diff bushes, tank takes 20min to get out. We pull them out all the time to change pumps. They are piss easy to get out

Taxi boot floor is flat no spare wheel well, makes doing that bush dead easy.

But yes VE fuel tanks are bastards, have done two on the floor without a hoist, the front pulley flying off the engine (V8) is a far more amusing fault though.

I watched a couple of Holden engineers change the fuel pumps on all 4 Olympic torch relay cars in under an hour. We were more concerned that they were changing fuel pumps on cars with less then 20,000km on them!
Some Euro's are piss easy to change fuel pumps, iitc the T4 VW Transporter it was simply unscrew the inspection hatch then unscrew the retaining ring. W210 Mercs also ring a bell for being fairly easy to do, which was handy as they had a habit of killing them. My VS wagon for some reason was a shit to do the pump on, yes the bloody tank was near full. And I did the apparently normal trick of fucking the level float at the same time.

Volvo 240's are one of them. If it's on stock suspension you don't even need to jack to car up

3 bolts under the car, the fuel pump cradle drops. It's only a PITA if the car is crusty and the fuel lines won't come off...And the standard pumps are Bosch 959's, so if you need cheap fuel pumps for some big HP car, they can be obtained easily and cheaply...

The dealer i worked at actually bought 2 of the red VT SS torch relay cars, i pinched the fire extinguisher from one of them. They onsold them as used cars after stickers were removed.

My dad popped into work in his VS sedan to do minor work one arvo. I went out to the carpark to bring it in ten minutes later and it wouldnt start. Fuel pump died right there! Pushed it inside onto a hoist while dad took my car to buy a new pump (we didnt have one in stock for fucks sake!) and ofcourse the tank was full to the brim. Caught as much fuel as i could with a funnel and a jerry can, but lost a few litres. Pump was a piece of piss after that.

VL high pressure pump is much the same. I crawled under one in the carpark to "borrow" the pump before a truck came to take it to the wreckers ( it was destroyed after an engine fire)
N/A pump is the same as a VL Turbo pump.
A couple of bolts and chopped hoses and it was out in 2 minutes.

I converted a VS (on gas) to a VL external pump after getting sick of doing the pump twice for a mate of mine. A wreckers VL external pump lasted longer than 2x new pumps and I never had to do it again.

Something similar happened to a housemates VL years ago. Went out side in the morning and there was a pool of fuel under the car left behind after someone flogged the fuel pump during the night.
