    How about a ghetto DIY calibration? Put the socket end in a vice and hang a known weight at various distances out from the pivot and see when it clicks.

      That would be a way to measure the wrench, although you can buy torque checkers relatively cheap nothing compared to the calibrater's equipment. But making the adjustments to the wrenches is the hard part.

            This is a digital torque checker you can buy analogue ones that just screw to a bench or wall, these are used for quickly verifying your wrench if it is out then you call in the calibration guy.

                        Read a great post on either the Commo or Ford forum where some dude recommended using a torque wrench to undo caliper bolts so you can work out what they were torqued up to originally by reading off whatever torque was needed to undo them.

                          What is the point of that unless you are Grissom/CSI? Non-lubed threads could be oxidised as fuck making the reading pointless?

                                'tight enough, but not too tight'

                                I have a big 3 foot torque wrench, had to buy the bastard for the crank bolt on the viper, although putting it back on was the easy part
