If you pay anymore than $1500 with rego you have been ripped. So may shitter VT's forsale for $500 to $1000. Look on those broke arse Facebook Buy/Sell pages for a shitter with rego and offer them half what they want and drive it till it dies or runs out of rego.

Yeah, I had a few cars on my list, including yours, but once I got saw the semi faded pink (once was red) bogandore, I knew I was home. Oddly enough a corolla sportivo was next on the list to drive that night. I did sample the 2ZZGE goodness in a couple of celicas I tried, but now understand what you meant about no torque and a long wait to get to that brief moment of joy at 6-8000.
One day, your cast off will be mine!

I've had both a VR pov pack, and a VX SS in resplendent Tiger Mica.

Night and day in comparison. The VX was much nicer to drive, and certainly much better put together.

As far as reliability goes, they were pretty much on par. Plenty of things crapped out or wore out on both. Not sure I'd own an example of either again.

My VS wagon was nicer to drive then my BIL's WH statesman, both moos. The WH was quieter but just felt fat and sloppy, and gutless as all hell. The FIL's VR however, bucket of shit.

i had a vr ss, a vx ss, a vy ss and now a vz clubbie... (over a 13 year period.. (and a UC v8 torrie before that for 8 years))

the vt cars are better to drive than the previous vr-vs cars, the extra width
has something to do with it i think

Sure tha pov pack models handle like shit, but the top end hsv's are very very good (i have a e46 coupe to compare it too)

and as some people have metioned, bits do fall off them, but usually are an easy/cheap to fix as compared to other cars.
ie the total runnnig costs of my VZ hsv are less than the e46 3 series.

Its the simplicity of these things which is what i love about my VZ. These are the last of the non electric cars (ie vf has electric steering)
and don't have heaps of useless gay features, just simple, and its the main reason why i never updated to VE-VF.

Now that holden is gone i glad im going to have something i can keep and hopefully drive for another 20+ years.

There is a VX pov pack exec at the local car yard for $1999.

Didnt see if it had rego or not.
