How do you "deliver cars for work" in your Toyobaru with satnav?

Annoying yes and I hate being told one thing and then getting something else, but at least you have something to drive.

Still not sure what these guys do for you? Suncorp (other driver's insurance) just paid for a hire car for me direct - no middle man.

Hmm, should I complain about being asked if I would prefer a Pajero or Rav4 ??
        :p

Someone else drives the car to be delivered, I pickup that person.

I'm not complaining about having a Corolla, absolutely not. I'm just complaining that the left foot doesn't know what the right foot is doing at that mob.

Their purpose is to provide a car to people who aren't at fault, and whose insurance companies don't provide cars, or they didn't take the hire car option on their policy. All the while charging the at fault party or their insurance company for the privilege.

Had mine for 3 days now - hoping to get my car back tomorrow or Friday - Although I don't mind driving this buzzbox around - certainly more economical..

They called me on the Friday to confirm my vehicle - was suggested I can get a RAV-4 or Pajero - Turns out the only available ones were Outlander or Kluger. - I chose the Outlander as I hadn't driven the latest model..

met me at the repairer, went through the paperwork, did a walk around of the car to note any damage and I was on my way.... Piss easy...

Sounds like your experience is about eleventy times better than mine was. At least you haven't been lied to in every step of the process and been asked to go get the car after you dropped it off, expecting the rental to be there waiting for you.

They fucked up, it happens. They paid the cab fare, and gave you a free car to run around in, as opposed to catching public transport for a week.

                  Life's tough...

They didn't pay the cab fare until I started getting shitty. Got all the excuses under the sun, such as "we don't have a CabCharge account" and other crap. So yes, they fucked up, but they didn't want to take responsibility for it.

Anyway, never mind. You all deny it now, but put in the same position, you'd all have done the same thing.

Their business is to make getting you a loan car as easy as possible (free to you) - so yeah, they should have their shit down pat by now.
They bill the other insurer at a premium rate - include the excess waiver and charge a delivery fee - so it's in their best interest to make it all run smoothly / keep you happy so that you use them again..

I was surprised that my loan vehicle came from Wetherill Park also considering my car is being repaired at Hornsby and they have an office in Artarmon.
It didn't worry me that the RAV4/Pajero wasn't available - because they had suitable alternatives, but I would have been pissed if I got a Corolla or Yaris etc as I need the larger boot space to carry all my photography gear and props to my daily shoots and there is no way it would all fit in a Corolla

If I wanted to get really picky -
The bloke that delivered my car was a bit late (but he called me to say he was stuck in traffic) - so I could excuse the 20 mins waiting around..

BUT, It had just under 1/2 tank of fuel when I got it and he said he would write down 1/4 so that I didn't have to fuel it as much when returning it.. SCORE

Thanks for the updates and the varying feedback. In the end, we cancelled Compass's offer and ended up borrowing a friend's car for the FIL to do his work in. I certainly didn't know there was such a service available.
