It's about 2,700km ... At 500km to a tank thats 5.4 tanks, $100 to fill gives you sub-$600 with ease, I'd imagine you'll see more than 500km to a tank though.

I don't reckon you'd get a freight company to do a cheaper deal than driving. I've only ever once looked into it and it was about 1,000. Plus I have heard horror stories of cunts cars moving in transit and getting damaged.

heading west is much dearer than heading east freight wise.

by a fair bit too last time I looked at it.

Sending it as general freight will be cheaper.
.... because every driver experiences the destructive potential of the effortless surge of power available through the smallest of body movements.

Be a bigger horror if you put it on the train & the train derailed, as happened a few years ago.

They didn't bother with saving any of the 100 or so cars, utes, campers [some not even damaged]... they were all buried next to the track in the middle of the Nullabor.

Find someone leaving Adelaide on the Indian Pacific and ask to use their car space.
Should be cheaper than just sticking it on the train.

$469 to take a car if you book it when you book your tickets.

                    Otherwise $900

Gotta find someone who hasn't booked a ticket but is planning to do so.
I only offered because it'd be a sweet drive and it'd kill time for me plus I could see my nan who lives there.

That is only when you take Curtain Fading time into account.
