Rover 75/MG ZT V8 Touring with Ford GT spec modular and big turbos.

Actually, that would be kinda cool.
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

Supra 2JZ would need NOS to spool a decent size turbo unsure if NOS allowed with another form of forced induction.
you'd end up in unlimited like the torana did - needing 6's or GTFO.

Whats the fastest streetable supra around though?
This is a post i wrote by mistake, which is nice...

Drag week car? Maybe an A9X replica with a turbo 5.3 LS.

Or just take Terry Seng's VC with a 6L iron LS in it.

I'd think a high 8 with something like a gtx42 should be doable. In fact, I think anything quicker than high 8's, regardless of the platform, would take you into PITA territory

What about Johns orange mustang , 6cyl AU motor which runs into the 8's and is driven far more often than it should be . Yanks get the mustang thing and aussie 6cyl to surprise instead of 2J, then throw a spare taxi donk in the trailer .

If your going to that it would have to be an EA in Melbourne yellow cab colours.

                        100k to build something reliable?

I reckon you could build a reliable 8 second car for around $30-35k (something like prasacs brothers corona)

I reckon it would be seriously awesome to do it in a reliable, relatively unstressed mid to high 9 second car. Fuck trying to be competitive in any of the classes, unless you have serious money and car building talent that's a pipe dream.

A 9 second car will win you hot rod, gasser, daily driver and have you competitive in street race, modified NA and pro street NA
