Thanks mate. I've still got a few more things to do yet, but finding time is hard. I made life hard for myself specifically chasing a pre 74 long bonnet.

When you first sent me a link to that car, I nearly threw up in my mouth. Your wheels and some RSR bumpers would improve it's garish looks 800%.

It may not be sexy, but without taking it into consideration I certainly wouldn't be able to afford one. In fact I wouldn't, unless I thought the car I bought was priced so I could not lose on it.

So, what sort of bases are these :

      Side note :
I looked into the RAUH-Welt Begriff Porsches and they seem to be using 964 & 993 chassis' probably a little out of my price range as a base. And wow at the prices that they charge for their kits. $20k for a body kit US.

Happy to wait and save the cash for a 964 if it REALLY has to be a 964.

$20k is before suspension, wheels and paint, too.

i'm guessing 70's 911 for that green turbo speedster monster thing (based on the black PORSCHE text in the centre bit)
and the bisimoto blue one is a 76 Carrera originally

Personally, for $75k I'd build a clubman and a Plymouth 440 6 pack something or other, but if I had to buy a Porsche I'd go this route:

Weren't these around $75-80k? Though that's probably for one without wheels, engines, doors or anything that makes it look like a 911RS.

I like how they advertise them as 'galvanised steel shell' and 'bare metal respray' - that's going to be a good combo

I reckon the best value in the market at the moment and therefore perhaps the best chance of getting your money back or making some, is an Aussie delivered 74-79 911S coupe.

the yellow is 70's cool - white/black/red/grey/silver are all so boring!

an 74-79 S isn't all that special is it? (I mean it doesn't have more power or anything)

oh and i'd like to be an anorak and mention that those headlight rings should be body colour on a 77 (it makes them look so much better and it should either have black anodised or grey anodised door handles (again I think special order for chrome, but it makes the window trims look out of place) /nerd off

This thing is fucking perfect. Seems steep though and I'd still rather a GT3 with 10k in my pocket.

mint, but for that price i'd get a 964 turbo and have five speed, coilovers, best intercooler, forward mounted oil tank etc from factory
