    I dont get the hate.
.... because every driver experiences the destructive potential of the effortless surge of power available through the smallest of body movements.

Outright record for big $ turbo MX5 is about a 1:49. But that could possibly be bettered when the carbon fibre car is finished.
Prod Sports 2B class NB turbos on slicks of course are recorded regularly doing 1:44-46s since about 2009. I think one did a 1:43 last year at Island Magic (doubt it was legal though). That said, a 1:50 in a low powered MX5 is tidy. Kudos.
A slow day at the track is better than any day in the office.

The Lightyear was referring to the club record. But checked, and it was reset by Owen Boak in his car to a 1:47.xx. IPad doesn't give tenths for some reason.

The Lightyear will be converting the carbon fibre car into a race car once The Lightyear has nailed some good lap times.

Seriously, some of you cunts need to lighten the fuck up.

He posted a video of a lap which was the fastest in the club at the time.
it showed that the car had issues and could possibly been faster
It's not the best time in the world at that track, but it's not a bad time at all for what is a non turbo mx5
He sarcastically referred to himself in the 3rd person to continue what someone else had started.
Relax, no hate from me, i'm just a curious being.

The re-surface is widely recognised as being worth 3 seconds a lap... so not out of the question
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

For fuck sake Lightyear wear a fucking mask when sanding.
Especially if playing with carbon fibre and not those shitty P2 throwaway masks

The Lightyear breaths around the dust particles. So no need for masks.

Not sure mate. He just crops up on a lot of old Nissansilvia.com threads. He was doing fab back then so probably the same.

It's a shame The Lightyear didn't post up it's video of the WRX (50% STI) at Winton:

No excuses can be made for that understeer.

Cheers bbeavis. That was the first time out with the STI bits. The Lightyear was expecting it to drive better. But the brakes seem to need ducting as they over heat pretty quick.
Also, The Lightyear did overdrive it to get used to the characteristics of the car. There were some tidy laps on the day, but it was a struggle to control the understeer.
