Been in a bunch of quick turbo VWs in my time but always wanted to experience EJ power! Such a cool episode and I like that you pretty much get it all at once. This is in a manx buggy would be cool too! The car is begging for some brakes and suspension upgrades which they respond well to... so it's at least not a complete death trap

there was a fair bit of tech in there that could have easily stretched it out quite a few episodes like gramps.

Nah rebuilt gearbox, got some cogs from the states and smashed them into a spare case Mike had lying around. The guy has skills and the car just worked. Fairly short time frame to turn it around, there's people using the subaru boxes which lets you run a bigger clutch and that's definitely whats required to get the power out to the wheels.. which have a nice time frying away.

Legit the craziest thing i've driven at a drag strip. Power to weight truly is a thing!

did you spraypaint the gearbox? or is it some fancy alumnium thing?

EDIT: just finished watching it, looks awesome finished and the drags were a laugh, i hope you got to chop some people before the video went out
