Build cost, don't know, still haven't added it up and this stuff never really aligns to real world cause if we paid ourselves industry rate to shoot/edit then we'd be broke before we even changed a wheel. Engine build parts a few grand, gearbox a few grand, WAIC 2k-ish, haltech we gave love and they organised the electrons. Mike would probably have a 'retail' number if someone asked him and i think your guesses are probably pretty spot on. Of course it'd be quicker the 2nd time.

Fucking awesome car though, but watching old MCM with my young nephews and explaining stuff to them, versus newer episodes and they fully understand it has changed from education+some entertainment to now entertainment+some education. It probably isn't in your MO anymore going forward but the good old 'basics' of where you both learn shit, while the audience learns shit is win.

Did you watch the Q&A they did in september? I'm pretty sure they covered exactly what you're talking about and said they're going to stick to their roots of educational/DIY videos as well as doing these projects (and if it wasn't in this video it's been mentioned in one of their recent ones)

Cracks it's not turning into anything, we're just doing what interests us. Always have always will. Sponsors help create opportunities, things we just couldn't do ourselves. Driving that beetle was scary but it was crazy fun too. That experience isn't the easiest thing to create.

There's only so many times we can show people basic stuff, and there's also limits to our knowledge

It would be be interesting to see some comparisons between differing suspension set ups in the car. A comparison between stock, the usual suspension mods and some 90/10 style. Compare the difference down the strip. That being said, I can see that is being hard to do in an episode and also very hard to make it interesting, which is why my you tube channel has no subscribers, and doesn't exist.
