    I was surprised how little boost the blower makes until it's at the top of it's rev range. Seems a bit disappointing when you compare it to the turbo, or even a roots blower. At least a roots blower would have a heap of low down torque and be far nicer on the street. I guess that kit you can just slap it on quite quickly and away you go.....

      one of the best episodes yet, was awesome to see how excited you all were and the science of those boost graphs

      i like the feeling of power coming on with higher revs, i think i'd enjoy the supercharger more

        I'd like to see the SC chart v stock chart.

        Want to see how much improvement over entire rev range.

        I can only assume that the SC one would be like having a 3L NA motor in an mx5.

              what about a 4L prado/camry motor? they are pretty revvy and are around 200kw stock are they not?

                  But actually, since it's a Ford Duratec block, the Mazda gearbag will probably bolt straight up to it...

                      Anyone else notice how Scott would die of he crashed an mx5? Either from hitting his head on the roll bar or in a roll over since his head sticks out over the top.

                          Yeah must say i'm a bit bummed after seeing how the centrifugal blower comes on boost. The Rootes-blown cars are making >10psi as soon as the bypass valves close at well under 2000rpm...

                          But then again nobody makes an off-the-shelf kit with an Eaton M-Series or TVS for a Miata, so take what you can get I suppose...

                              NC MX5 is 1153kg
                              ND MX5 is 1058kg
                              (wiki sources, so grain of bonneville)

                              Max legal road engine size going off the NCOP for LVC&M is
                              NB = 4.2L NA, 2.928L FI
                              NC = 5.7L NA, 3.459L FI
                              ND = 4.2L NA, 2.91L FI

                              Really only gives you a LS1 in only the NC. To be legal..
