Yeah nah, change the seats it will compliment the RB26. Think of it as conversation starter. IE someone comes up and says "why the fully sick seats that look totally out place in an older car?" And you reply "funny you would mention that and pop the bonnet revealing the RB26" then both have a chuckle and nod and wink and each other.

Then sell the shitty old vinyl seats. It's the right thing to do.

I have been running what I considered to be reasonably expensive China turbo (it was $500 or so) for the last 15 months and 14,000km. Was working just fine until the compressor wheel ate something, not worth getting it rebuilt so upgraded. But no issues other than that.

Back to the usual programming - loving both the Skyline and the 240Z builds!

Me too - It's even making me nostalgic for my old 260 which was really a horrible cheap rusty shitbox that I spent too much money on trying to keep on the road and had basically no go fast mods at all (apart from better brakes and rebuilt front suspension and steering rack).

Going slow in a Z-car feels fast so going moderately fast in one would feel like warp speed. Although the amount of times Moog lost it at Suzuka with the stock 2L makes me a little concerned for the RB26. They are pretty tail happy.
Marvellous things so quickly get mundane

Is this the Datsun version of Grindr?

How awesome does that engine and turbo look sitting in that bay all uncluttered so you can see it's full awesomeness.

As long I get first dibs on the vinyl seats it can be what it needs to be. Plus Moog strikes me as the "adventurous" type.

                        Are you fucking nuts?

40+ year old seats aren't strong enough to support you in any spirited driving. The bit that joins the base to the seat back will break just due to age. Go call Velo and get something in there for the safety of Moogs and yourself.

Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

I've driven my Mini with 40+ year old seats on semis, falling out of the door was a problem, breaking was not.

Every seat I've broken has been a result of pulling the 40yo adjustment lever...

Plus I think there may have been a little bit of sarcasm involved there!

My car is 50+ yrs old with flat seats and while not fast, it has a heap of suspension shit so you can chuck it at a corner reasonably well....falling out of the seat sucks. I am thinking a bit of trim work to give the originals some side bolstering might work so that's an option.
