John Candy would be my pick.Originally posted by Kiahatsiu View PostThat was a great episode. They keep getting better.
I think you could have used a better actor to play Tim though.

Im a married dude with kids and full time job. Took me ~7 months. Crack did my CAD drawings, JasonB helped with bench testing.

His on camera presence has really come into it’s own. Even from the first skid factory to now it’s always getting a little better. Each vid there seems to be a little more confidence in front of the camera. Big congrats.Originally posted by Captain_Slow View PostAl just gets better and better as a "TV host".
Also the last skid factory the guys nailed the sound over/engine noises balance with the 1600 on the dyno. Was a lot better than the 32 dyno vid. Guys are smashing it!

Should have asked what software you guys are using for video editing and synchronisation? Being able to churn out multiple camera edits with good audio sync is really good.Chris

Nice work. Looked like a fair bit of spark scatter in the original dizzy?
Oh, and they're socket head cap screws
Muz, Busa TBs are 44 or 45mm depending on year.
Intersting that rather than re-racking the TBs like bike guys regularly do to sort out the spacing when converting carb'd bikes to efi, it's done in the manifold. Is it a fabricated piece? Or cast?"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

It was fabricated. I'm exploring options of having it cast or CNC at the moment. I'd prefer to keep the OEM spacing.Originally posted by Gammaboy View PostNice work. Looked like a fair bit of spark scatter in the original dizzy?

I decided to keep them together as it suits the air filter arrangement and keeps them compact. Also don't have to mod the linkages or fuel rail.
People aren't going to buy my shit unless its simple and cost effective. The more mods you have to make to stuff the more it winds up costing.
The end game is to offer L-series EFI conversion bits. I'd like to offer all the little bits you need to make it work. People can buy it all or just 1 thing.
Manifolds, air filter options, ECU's and wiring, sensors to suit the engines etc.

Makes perfect sense. I guess I'm just so used to seeing it done it was a surprise to see OEM spacing on them. Lots of factors to consider with that. Big upfront cost of getting a pattern made and then casting. Then the 2nd processes required to 'clean them up'. Probably a lower unit cost after the first 20 are made. Or my CNC guy I'm using in wang-dong who is turning out awesome stuff. No pattern, no 2nd process. Repeatable costs and designs easily tweaked, probably a slightly higher average cost.Originally posted by Gammaboy View PostMakes perfect sense. I would only ever go into production if my shit fits a LHD 510 with a brake booster. That's the honeypot of customers for this kind of thing.

3D printed wax investment casts? would need to deck the mating faces and tap a few holes but fettling wouldn't be required.Originally posted by tim510 View PostLots of factors to consider with that.
