New MCM series - 11sec subaru build. Bald PFer content.
EZ suffers from then wall bores and open deck.
Any decent cyl pressure will move the bore and cause BHG.
If you manage to sneak some real boost in and it holds up, rods are weak as piss. Also the big end bearing surface is only 70% as big as it could/should be, so any det at all would punish the little bearings quick smart.
The guys are right to be cautious.
If I recall Marty mentioned something about if the bores don't oval we're all good. The open deck causing blown head gaskets could be a saving grace. If it'll blow head gaskets before it puts holes in the block that's got to be a good thing right ? good excuse anyway to open it up and build it. These can be converted to closed deck can't hey by adding dowels between the outer cylinder wall and the outer block casting ?

Yeah staying on the safe side cause i'd rather get in a few runs to see what its capable of than blow it up on the dyno and have to start from scratch.
A build isn't out of the question it'd just take some big dollars i don't have at the moment. But if the motor/car combo proves itself it could be entirely worth doing, no plans to get rid of it any time soon.

Actually that leads into another question about a project like this.... how much of the costs (parts/labour) come from the 'show' budget/income.... as opposed out of your own pockets? If your own budget.... double kudos for putting your own cash out there to create some awesome videos for the rest of us to watch.
