New MCM series - 11sec subaru build. Bald PFer content.
I don't use a grinder on teflon hose, only on 100 series.
Tape trick worked for me the handful of times I've cut braided hose, generally had to poke a few strands into the fitting. my abrasive dropsaw did a good job too but 4.5" angle grinder with a thin disc is much quieter an neater though.
Have you seen the "koul tool"? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IL4kPrSZSEc basically a jig you put the fitting in that has a lead in to shove all the wires where they need to go. Haven't used one but it seems simple enough, and would probably pay for itself in bandaid savings in a short period of time.
Have used push lock fittings once and they leaked, (popular brand that ended in flow) Gates EFI hose leaked less than the hose from the same company made for the fittings, ended up putting hose claps over the top which looked shithouse.
Was about to say WTF but realised I meant to say 5", I've got a 115mm grinder but some 125mm discs fit it. Pretty dumb having both, they should fuck off 115mm and 100mm grinders and just have big and little. If you need something smaller than a 125mm then buy a dremel.
Pferd discs are good but 115mm is about as metric system as a 114.3mm PCD.
excellent vid and all but im confused as to why no 3.8?
