Shocks and springs were brand new! Axle tramp we thought could be unbalanced wheels possibly still not sure.

IIRC. Shocks and springs aren't the answer on the HQ aren't the answer anyway. It comes down to the suspension design which can suffer from leaf bind and the general sloppiness of things doesn't help. It takes a bit of work to get them to stop tramping.

Without the time to test or the experience of working with that car you'd never know what you were in for. The only quick and easy "fix" would have been tramp bars / traction bars. But chance if you're out in the middle of nowhere when you discover that you need them.
