On those cam sensors, is it the connector or the actual sensor itself? Worth potting the connector if its the heat causing connection issues?

Yeah, fair enough. Its a terrible location for a cam sensor overall, and if its anything like the Mazda ones it is the vibration and heat that kills the internal connection which is exacerbated by the connector being cantilevered off the front of the sensor.
