because I have a say... I had to watch a Clive Palmer ad to support MCM!!!!!!Originally posted by TT View PostWhy do people still make suggestions on what a show that has 3 million subscribers and 11 years of success doing what it wants, "should do next"?

Nope, actively controlled rear diff (S-AYC in the IX), locking centre diff with constant 50/50 distribution, and open front diff.Originally posted by irsa76 View PostEvos still ran proper mechanical center diffs until the end didn't they? I always the Haldex VWs to feel abit, weird.
The RS models that never made it to Aus had mechanical front and rear diffs. Most track guys swap them in to replace the electronics.
edit: I misread that as meaning rear diff - so yes, you're right.

It's still gears though, not what is basically a wet clutch arrangement which is what I'm getting at.Originally posted by break View PostNope, actively controlled rear diff (S-AYC in the IX), locking centre diff with constant 50/50 distribution, and open front diff.

On a side note, bloody Mitsubishi and all their different tricky diffs.

Yeah I questioned that and they said makes no difference.
There seems to be lots of conflicting info on dyno results also. Lots of results using hub dynos or weird calculations to get to the engine bhp number.
Here’s a question for you, if drivetrain loss is 15%. Where does a 1000hp car shed that extra 75hp over a 500hp car?

Heat, noise, etc mostly.
But it’s not exact science. It’s only an approximation.
Car A might lose 75hp at 500, then with multiple page up key strokes to make 1000hp it might lose 120hp
Or might lose more if it is actually causing permanent deformation to hardened steel gears etc etc (that you don’t notice for a long while after) as it is overpowering them now.

Are people still carrying on about that? I thought that had been put to bed back in the MkIV days.Originally posted by MickyD View PostHaven’t (and won’t...) looked through the comments on YouTube, but I’m sure there’s a few telling you how much more power you’ll get from removing the snow grate in the bottom of the airbox.
