Why do people still make suggestions on what a show that has 3 million subscribers and 11 years of success doing what it wants, "should do next"?

Why do people make posts/comments like yours?

Did a delivery to a local Euro workshop today who are agents for APR. Was talking to the owner who watched the Golf build, his Golf R has the full monty APR package, pretty similar to the Revo gear Moog used, and has done over 20,000km with zero problems with around 500hp.

EVO is still king between the two...... The decked out Golfs have turned up to the Targa type events, and gone home with tails between legs.

Evos still ran proper mechanical center diffs until the end didn't they? I always the Haldex VWs to feel abit, weird.

Nope, actively controlled rear diff (S-AYC in the IX), locking centre diff with constant 50/50 distribution, and open front diff.
The RS models that never made it to Aus had mechanical front and rear diffs. Most track guys swap them in to replace the electronics.

edit: I misread that as meaning rear diff - so yes, you're right.

It's still gears though, not what is basically a wet clutch arrangement which is what I'm getting at.
On a side note, bloody Mitsubishi and all their different tricky diffs.

Haven’t (and won’t...) looked through the comments on YouTube, but I’m sure there’s a few telling you how much more power you’ll get from removing the snow grate in the bottom of the airbox.

There was a bad batch of turbos early in the R/S3 production that were shitting turbos, was it one of them?

Yeah I questioned that and they said makes no difference.

There seems to be lots of conflicting info on dyno results also. Lots of results using hub dynos or weird calculations to get to the engine bhp number.

Here’s a question for you, if drivetrain loss is 15%. Where does a 1000hp car shed that extra 75hp over a 500hp car?

                            Comment

                              Heat, noise, etc mostly.

But it’s not exact science. It’s only an approximation.

Car A might lose 75hp at 500, then with multiple page up key strokes to make 1000hp it might lose 120hp

Or might lose more if it is actually causing permanent deformation to hardened steel gears etc etc (that you don’t notice for a long while after) as it is overpowering them now.

Are people still carrying on about that? I thought that had been put to bed back in the MkIV days.
