They are all over the provinces throughout Indonesia. Some pretty cool backyard engineering in some, some scary dodgy lack of engineering in others....Last edited by PXL265; 23-12-19, 03:27 PM.

THat was a cool episode. I wonder how easy a 2ZZ would have fit?
Also, thta gearbox in it is the C154, its got very long ratios, and almost impossible to find an LSD....a C56 will bolt straight on, shorter ratios and heaps of options for LSD!Originally posted by The Property Gurudon't haemophrodites generally have tiny wangs?A80 SupraOriginally posted by oxyNo, that's asians

2zz would turn it from a $500 swap to a $5000 swap tho
*maybe
** still want to do it to the Echo

Yeah we went 2ZRFE cause crazy cheap and common. If i had more time i would have liked to experiment with the 6 speed but there was doubts about the shifter working properly. Pretty straightforward conversion but MUCH easier if you have the USDM or JDM version which is a plug in bolt in affair.

Still impressively easy though, I thought you needed to swap pretty much all the modules from the donor car to fix immobiliser issues
I remember stalking the US Echo/Yaris forums when the first 2ZR conversions were being done, if that engine is physically a straightforward fit the 2L 3ZR out of RAV4s might be too - not a big difference in power but a bunch more torque and wider powerbandLast edited by perthdrivers.txt; 25-12-19, 12:14 PM.

2ZZ-GE does fit. Search YouTube and there is a few.Originally posted by MR-PUNANNY View PostTHat was a cool episode. I wonder how easy a 2ZZ would have fit?

8000+ RPM madness. But wouldn’t be great for turbo (room or CR)

Are you sure about the long ratios? My 1.3 ncp10r is very long yes, but the nopics 1.3 ncp90r revs much higher. It feels much quicker at suburban speeds, but falls flat on the highway.Originally posted by MR-PUNANNY View PostTHat was a cool episode. I wonder how easy a 2ZZ would have fit?

the 2zz swaps that have been done usually section the chassis rail to clear the extra hump in the end of the 6-speed transmission case. They also deal well with low-boost turbo setups on 98, and love a bit more boost on E85 making an easy 300hp atw. In a Yaris you do a sidewinder style manifold and put the turbo over the box. Snapping up a ZZT celica from the pickles salvage auctions for $450-700 is the best way to get your donor for the swapOriginally posted by Cplus View Post

I've just about finished my 3rd FWD 2zz swap, first one I've done that is NA though

I expect the lower weight and a little bit of boost makes up for the bit of low (under 5k!) rpm doughness that the corolla sportivo experiences.
or maybe just change the cam changeover point to suit the gearing better.

Can confirm, lower weight and a bit of boost is great
