I was really surprised to see the engine choice in the e30! I think its very cool but I can see the MCM fan base losing their biscuits over this one. I actually would never have expected that choice from Marty either to be honest. I will be watching intently and look forward to the result

From memory the 325i is tare 1270kg on the build plate.

Roughly the same as what e30zone lists https://www.e30zone.net/e30wiki/inde...ns_and_Weights

General consensus in the comments seem to be jeez, too basic of a swap, to main stream, lazy cunts just buy parts of shelf, yuck etc.

          Also them,
-here is my 7 year long project build of my four quarters shit box, I certainly did not bite off more than I can chew, sorta trying to see it through, by finding other pointless shit to do to avoid having to attempt the hard critical shit I cannot do without paying people to undo my fuckups and having to wear the dunce hat of shame at someone's shop and pay the bill. FB market place 12 months later "LOOKING FOR EOI'S AND OFFERS SEEING WHATS OUT THERE NO RUSH TO SELL, MY PRIORITIES HAVE CHANGED"

Cool build, me likey regardless of powerplant, small E30 brick with plenty of whorepower that actually works and will do fun stuff is good in all formats.

Lots of talk of skids, no talk of replacing control arms or anything so guessing not for drifting like almost every yank channel right now.
Interested to see where this goes.

Whatever happens, it weighs slightly less than my HQ Tonner with the LS2 in it and that's bullshit fun. Throw in the E30 chassis' ability to actually turn and it should be smiles for miles.

I don't know where you would get a proper LSD R200 for less than $1000.

Unless the inference is you can get a diff for $3-400 and then you have to spend the $1200 or so for a LSD centre.

Nonetheless I am enjoying the build and it shows how easy it these days to do engine conversions.
Shims cost about $12. No more peg leg.

Isn't the control arm and e36 thing?
.... because every driver experiences the destructive potential of the effortless surge of power available through the smallest of body movements.

Yep, but most, from s chassis were viscous which after 20 years are perfect for single pegging.

Mechanical LSD centres all seem to be around the $1000 mark for a second hand complete diff, depending on ratio, and new centres only can be found for around the $1200 mark last time I was chasing one up.

4.11s with those little tyres will make for a lot of gear changes in the big ole Tremec truck box. That little car would lug 3.6s brilliantly and give a top speed that would rival the SSC boys

Depending on age of the vehicle, there is little chance that the tare weight is that high. The only one that I have found that would fit the bill is the 325is but the donor car would have to have been a 6 cyl chassis made after October 1988 not a 4 cyl.
