lewis engines offer reco'd rb26 rods for $250 (i assume a set). spool rods for comparisons sake start at $650
What do you get in a lewis reco'd rod set? also the spool rods should be stronger being h beam and made of forged 4340 moly.

H beam isnt a reason for being stronger.

if i were going cheapy spool rods (which i am considering) id be going their I beams, which are only $50 more.

or carillo's are on sale at some places atm for >$1000 (h beam)

      heres the lewis reco rods>http://www.lewisengines.com.au/rb26-...shes-balanced/

Depends, if the factory rods are half decent then it makes sense.
I got stock 4AGE rods resized with ARP bolts, good set of rods are $500~, these were far less.

i also thought split rods were generally cast/scintered. not forged

Cracked rods first showed up in the Cadillac Northstar motor didn't they?

                        Nope, turns out I'm wrong.
Ford 4.6 was the first automotive use. Was being done in 2 stroke outboards before them - allows the roller bearing to have an unfucked surface at the join.

"The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."
