I've come across some rods that are fracture split, but seem otherwise like a regular forging? I thought fracture split was only possible with powder scintered rods?... But check out pics below... Looks like a plain old regular forging with normal parting lines etc to me?

So, thoughts? Normal forged rod, but fracture split?
