I personaly think a Pajero drives better than the Prados.
Car won't be driven that much. Probably 10-15,000 kms per year. So consumption won't be that material. If anything the cheaper petrol Prado purchase price would be better for them.

I'll get them to drive a Pajero too. They look decent value. I also started a thread on these a week or so back.

Mate's Aurion at work just started spitting oil out everywhere. Told him im quite sure its the VVTi oil hose, and to get it to Toyota. Its an '07 model but with only 80k on it.
Chances of Toyota coming to the party?

Could also be the oil cooler hose down low at the front. Done a few of each. I always fit the updated later model all steel parts. Have the part numbers at work if required.

They used to replace the old Prado TD heads without much fuss.

Even when they were 100K and several years out. Fuck, we even had the labour and sublet work covered after the machine shop we used, couldn't find the cracks the first time around.

                              TD Pajero gets my vote.

I find the Pajero has a little more wind noise than the prado, but the Pajero is much more "car like" on road. Generally the Pajero is a better car. Injectors on the diesel prado can be expensive.

If you want a petrol engine I would lean slightly towards the prado, but make sure its a 5sp.
