Didn't the 180SX fail because of a lack of headroom at the back? Z31 would be bigger inside I would have thought.Richard's DatsunZ lappin LakesidZ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47OSh...&feature=g-upl

JZA80 would have to be the most unsuitable car for IPRA ever. Because restrictors. A60 would be better if going atmo. Or apply to have a UZZ30 added to the approved list and chuck in a UR. Would take cubic dollars, but all the front running V8s do.

The FIA tests go by cabin space by engine capacity. It fails. You've got a previous ipra EO here telling you as much. If that's not enough join the ipra forum and ask a current EO or, better yet, got
to a monthly Qld ipra meeting and ask.
Luckily for you there's also a class (Es) for sports cars.

Join the forum so you have access to the technical section. I'm glad I did...it led to me aborting two different IPRA builds.

Firstly any car Group A Homologated is presumed to be a Touring Car and hence to pass the requirements. So if the car you are considering is Group A Homologated then you don't have to measure it. If a car doesn't have seating for 4/5 people then no need to measure it, it already fails the initial "is it a Touring Car" test.
There are a number of minimum dimensions that are dependant on engine size, ie; smaller engine size smaller dimensions. In IP for the dimension test we consider the smallest engine the car came with from the manufacturer. The relevant dimensions are the distance between the brake pedal and the centre of the steering wheel, the centre of the steering wheel to the rear window (parallel to the floor pan), the width between the front doors across the front seats and the height from the rear seat cushion, when compressed by the FIA approved weight, to the roof, with the headlining compressed.
For first time IP recognition a vehicle has to have an application form completed that has a section for those dimensions to be included. They have to be confirmed by an IP Eligibility Officer prior to submission.
If you PM me your email address I'll send you the application form.
Cheers

Rear head height is only 1 requirement, You also have width across front and rear seats then theres the real hard one that even S14 and S15 JUST met, The measurement from rear seat to steering wheel then down to pedals. Get a copy of the cabin dimension sheet and try for yourself, Then theres the CAMS approved weight has been harder to find than a Martian whore. Needed for Compressing the seats.
Is the Car Homoligated as a Sportscar? If so I don't think you have the same Pull Mr Moffat had in the RX7 Era.
IPRA is frozen in time it seems so any change will take the old guard Dieing out.
