I'm actually quite surprised the Fat Men From Kentucky haven't yet managed to eclipse Jan's work from the 70's.Originally posted by Bueller View Postdoesnt matter. felt much more fun and didnt get thrown off line on bumps.. unlike the corvette.Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Is it true that Mitsubishi stopped making the Rosa due to a breach-of-patent law-suit launched by Chevrolet?Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Frog go download the documentary I think it's a mega factories one, it's about the corvette factory it is also about the C6 variety of vettes you will soon learn what Z06 and ZR1 really mean.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...eife_lap_times
Now look where the vettes are on that list.
Edit Also frog I do believe that the rear leaf of the vette has a variable rate or non linear unlike (most) coil springs, I bet the shocks are god's work. Also FWIW I did a set of coilovers in a RX8 the result (all other suspension standard) was a very nice drive it was as neutral as a porche in handling (and no that dose not necessarily mean it will out handle one)(and yes I know not an RX7 but I have not worked on a late model RX7 for 5 years now).

eh? you said the C6 would get thrown off on a country road for having stiff suspension, then said IMOA's super stiff car did not:Originally posted by Forg View PostNo, I said the Corvette had inferior handling in a throw-away line a couple of pages back, when I said Marco's car would handle better. It was clutch-monkey who said Corvettes get thrown off line in that quote you've given there,
on the C6:

*skip*-*skip*-*skip* across the road like a 60's VW Kombi ...Originally posted by Forg View Post"Not very", and that's my point. Making suspension so hard that the car loses traction on mid-corner bumps doesn't mean it's a brilliant handler. IMOA's car is really firm, but irregularities in corners on country roads don't throw it off line.Originally posted by clutch-monkey View Postok but why would a corvette get thrown off then?Originally posted by Walt KowalskiMemes are only detectable by NSA.

In that case ... the answer to the question "why does a C6 get thrown off line in circumstances when an 86 does not?" would still have to be "because it isn't as good" ... nesspah?Originally posted by clutch-monkey View Posteh? you said the C6 would get thrown off on a country road for having stiff suspension, then said IMOA's super stiff car did not:

Oh, I've got no problem with the suspension design, as lukevl said it's a bit of a work of art. That was just the PF Collective playing the usual tag-team.Originally posted by Boo-urnsEdit Also frog I do believe that the rear leaf of the vette has a variable rate or non linear unlike (most) coil springs, I bet the shocks are god's work. If you carted it over to Opel & got them to tune the various rates they'd either drop or gain a few seconds 'round the ring ... and I could drive one in Targa Tassie 2015 to beat Jim Richards.
But they'd be idiots to do that, because I'm not exactly the target-market & they know what their market wants.Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback.
