As an expert in competition law (formerly working for Optus vs Telstra back in the day) my father was asked to prepare advice for Costco about this. They aren't doing anything anti competitive or breaching any consumer law.Originally posted by irsa76 View PostI wonder how long before the ACCC jumps on Costco for only allowing Costco members to purchase fuel? Considering how hard they've gone after Coles and Woolies with the discount fuel dockets.----------------------------------------

We went through there about 3-ish yesty, and it was already chaotic.Originally posted by BeverlyHillsCop View PostFilled up the tank on the way home from work... $1.21/l for 98... The place was packed, even had AFP police doing traffic duties to try and help manage the flow... pulled into the queue at costco.. eventually got the the fuel pump... next minute a full out brawl breaks out between two people who were filling up... full on punches, blood, torn clothing... OVER FUCKING FUEL!!!!! seriously.. the place is fucking chaos!!!
Didn't bother with the fuel, since sitting there for an hour idling away with the air-con blasting, just to save a few bucks, seemed rediculous.Originally posted by brewdlesIn short, some cunt at test and tune had a 250cc honda turning to 11ty and it sounded porn. Do that.

I don't understand why people would queue up for half and hour to save $10 and then buy a packet of smokes and a bottle of coke at 11ty percent markup therefore probably spending the $10 they have saved on fuel. Why is there such an obsession generally with people over the cost of fuel? Grocery prices on certain items fluctuate up to and sometimes more than 50% in any given week but no one ever seems concerned about that but if petrol increses by 1c per litre it's headline news!

I'm selective where I go, based on known price trends, but thats about the limit of it. If I need fuel and it happens to be a few cents more than it was last time, or a couple of days ago, its no biggie.Originally posted by brewdlesIn short, some cunt at test and tune had a 250cc honda turning to 11ty and it sounded porn. Because fuel is at least 25cpl more expensive everywhere else in Canberra these days and it doesn't take long for that to add up in quite a few $$ on tankfull.Originally posted by Mr Evo 7 View PostDidn't bother with the fuel, since sitting there for an hour idling away with the air-con blasting, just to save a few bucks, seemed rediculous.---

124.9 for ULP 91 at Caltex Braddon yesterday (not a Woolies so no shopper docket discount). I presume the BP and Shell close by are the same price.Originally posted by Aaron View PostBecause fuel is at least 25cpl more expensive everywhere else in Canberra these days and it doesn't take long for that to add up in quite a few $$ on tankfull.

You're a genius!Originally posted by Sturmovik View PostOnly thing I can think of is the Mrs is inside Costco getting the shopping so the hubby says "ill be in there in a minute, ill just go get some fuel..."
Now I can't wait for them to introduce fuel at Auburn!
Although E10 was $1.019 at the pay-at-the-pump Caltexworths today; I usually pay extra to not have to queue for Sangiev's attention ...Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.
