yen is at 81 i thought it was 94 last time i bought shit
so base prie is 116k
which bumps the above number to 20k
still solid savings of 40k
however i wouldnt buy a GTR from japan unless there was a solid way to make all the GPS maps work and display everything else in englishI am a retarded 747 captain who now sells waterslides in Perth.

Apparently there's a huge trend in Japan for LHD cars, so in NSW at least I think you'd be stuffed.Originally posted by perthdrivers.txt View PostFor any niche/performance Euro/US car, id actually be looking at the Jap auctions first
He said that's about 5% in his earlier post, so it's not that much c/f exchange-rate changes.Originally posted by TJ Shermuz View Postplus whatever tax/gst/vat/whatever you dont have to pay in japan.
Yeah I was wondering that on the >25yo ones.Originally posted by mikeye View PostSo do they still need to be brought up to ADR's (e.g. weld some dodgy 25mm RHS in the doors for side intrusion), or is that just not a thing with modern cars?
The new ones it's probably irrelevant.
The ones on the "classic list" (<25years but used) would be interesting to know.Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

JDM cars from about the mid 90s on already had a lot of additions that met ADM requirements such as the intrusion bars

Can anyone who is willing please explain the current laws (and costs) on importing classics and exactly how these proposed new laws are cheaper?
I'm slowly losing my shit as to the possibilities of bringing in some cool and affordable shit (mainly European RHD stuff from uk). Just wondering how much more than purchase price I'd be looking at for some of these cars.Originally posted by XXX19XShitbreak is the epitome of perfection.

145,773.00 GBP or $298,901.87 AUD
Australia - $489,456
Almost exactly a $200k saving.
Add 10% GST that's 274527.
Add LCT that's 344270.
So it's $478k vs $345k.
Yes it's cheaper, but there can't be that many people saying "I can afford a car for $350k with no warranty but I can't afford one for $500k"?
I'd obviously choose the same thing for $350k over $500k, who wouldn't; but I can't imagine being to afford a $350k car and instead spending $500k making any difference to me.
Maybe I just can't imagine having that much toy-money.
