Yep, the brake dust wouldn't be so bad if the spokes weren't so narrow - makes cleaning them such a chore. I just used a few cans a supershit acrylic, the money saved on powder coated can go towards some real rims.

I was surprised when I first got the car at how slow it felt, especially because is has "350hp". I guess the ET kinda confirms that they're either optimistic with their quoted power, or its just fat.

Handles like nothing else I've ever been in though.

Nope, they don't appear to have a weigh bridge at the Motorplex. They do at the local refuse centre though, I should go dump some cardboard. It does feel heavy though, wouldn't be surprised if it's 1700kg with me in it.

For the power it makes you'd expect a high 12 imo.
          If in doubt power out

M140i supposedly has less power and does a 12.82 in Manual.

It's at least 100kg lighter though, and has 500Nm. Drag calculators are probably also usually assume a live axle RWD barge, which the 140i is a lot closer to than the Focus.

TlDr - my car is hypothetically quicker than yours.

Have to admit, I thought they were about on par with the A45 in a straight line and they're sub 13s. Not that it matters much, that's still plenty rapid and the real fun in these wouldn't be driving straight for 400 odd meters.

Tremolo - pretty sure I was driving behind you last night on Wynnum Road.

                  Worst drag car ever!

Might have been, I shot down to get some pizzas about 7.30, what were you in?

TIL that in a drag race, cars finish in order of their power to weight ratios.

BTW I drove one of those new Civic Type Rs on Mt Glorious, they are a really bloody nice thing to steer.

They sound like they're fantastic, I just couldn't get over the looks.

And the size of the rear brake discs in those 20 inch wheels.

Yes, I know a FWD hatch doesn't need real rear brakes, but that just looks retarded.

Yeah. My mate is downsizing from the standard 20s to 19s or 18s I think.

To be fair mid 13s is a good time for a mid 90s 200sx with breathing mods.
I would have thought it would be in the 12s with all its 4wd and more mumbo.
I guess weight is a big factor

A new STI also does a mid 13... If the RS was an 8spd auto or DSG I'm sure it'd be a lot quicker, but then you'd be less engaged.
It's a point and shoot car, through the twisty back roads its lightening fast...
