Interesting write up from some Canadian dude with some good comments, I read all pages.

Cliff notes are OP got it pretty hot on a short tight twisty track. Others have had a good time on longer tracks.

Seems there's no RDU temp sensor and shutdown is based on other factors in the programming, seems engine oil cooler might be the answer.

OP lists a bunch of mods to make it a track weapon but ultimately it's a hot street hatch, that you could punt for a bit but really depends on track layout and heat loads.

On youtube there is a match up of the latest hot hatches amg45, audi something, golf R, Honda R some others and the RS.
Around their race track about the size of EC the RS was 2 seconds quicker then the next which was the A45 in fact in all
of the handling test the RS was quickest. Only problem was it wasn't in English only the comparison times.

I don't know how it'll handle track work but the motherfucker is hilarious on the street.

I reckon that's the key, they've built the fastest road car that you can track occasionally and still have a blast. If they'd built it the other way then every journo would be winging about a sore anos.

The guy summed it up calling it a 'tuners car' if you want to go mod it then sure, away you go.

After 9 months wait I should be picking up my smurf blue one next week. decided to switch from white.

After almost selling my evo 9 I test drove a few evo 10s some modified I think the RS would be
light years ahead of a 10. Unfortunately the 10s were very underwhelming after my 9.
Great colour and in my opinion a RS is a real step forward. Enjoy.

Thanks, will post my thoughts once I get it. But I'm pretty sure they will be in line with Tremolo's!

I always wanted an Evo 9 but bought the 10 as they were similar priced at the time for a 2 year old 10 under warranty vs an 8+ year old 9.

My bro in law just got an RS3 about a month ago so we should have some fun match ups.

Just watch that video mmm if they think the 10 is that good they should try a 9 the seats are great.
Had one of those RS3 things blast pass me today all angry and popping just wanting
to fight anything. I was impressed it was quick and menacing made me think again I wonder
how they would stand up to track work?

They don't. They are a traffic light GP car, just like other Golfs.
Capable street car with glorious 5cyl note, boringly fast in a straight line. Nothing more.

Thanks gmx now I know why I have never seen a rs3 at the track and after
reading all the other stuff about the zillion problems with euro cars I will
dismiss it.
